December 18

We started today off with trying to make seating arrangements for our flight home.  We purchased a lap ticket for Gabriel and wanted to make certain that we would have one of the few seats that contained bassinets.  We were not able to get one for the first portion of our trip from Guangzhou to Tokyo, but were able to arrange one from Japan to Detroit, the longest portion of the flight.  Thank Goodness!  After much time on the phone with the airlines we headed out for a long walk and lunch.  We have enjoyed meeting so many other adoptive parents and have actually met several from our part of the country.  We have one of the few boys we have seen to date and I have to say he is as pretty as all the little girls.  I just cannot keep my eyes off them all.  Beautiful babies and children everywhere.  I was even happier to see so many special needs children with their families.  My heart is so full of joy it could just burst.  Gabriel continues to go with the flow.  He is the most content child I have ever seen.  He understands so much of what we say and he mimics us constantly.  He has the best sense of humor and loves to make us laugh.  His smile is intoxicating.  We will be staying in this evening and getting a good nights rest.  We are so ready to come home.  Parker, I have to tell you that you would love it here.  Kids everywhere playing hacky sack and skating, tossing the ball.  Jared, I think you would love it too, they have so many interesting things to do.  Sophia, this is your homeland, I know you would be at home and at ease here.  I feel welcome here, yet it is not home.  I miss you all and cannot wait to be home.  Love, Mommy and Daddy
